Optimization of Wood Fuel Chips Production in Denmark
Brice Assimizele
The increased use of wood chips at centralized power plants is an important initiative in the field of biomass in Denmark. In order to cope with the unbalanced supply and demand, the supplier of wood fuel stores 20% of its inventories for a period of time at the storage terminal. A variant of the production, inventory, distribution, routing problem (PIDRP) is developed in this book to describe the production and distribution of wood chips. In addition, statistical tests are performed beforehand on the data collected.
The fundamentals of logistics process management.
From theory to practice
The process view of the organization is an up-to-date and
important topic that every student, practitioners and lecturer in the field of
logistics need to understand and adopt because it is at the heart of wealth
creation for businesses, great value for customers and the improvement in our
living standard. This book first of all define and clearly explain the
fundamentals of logistics process planning and control and secondly reduces the
gap between theory and practice through step by step solutions of real case
studies from logistics companies in Cameroon.
In addition, this book can be used as a framework in building new
curriculums for undergraduate and graduate students to better adapt with
industry needs and new technologies. Clearly, we provide a theoretical and
practical background for effective and efficient digitalization of private and
public organizations in developing countries.
We are more interested in quality publications focused on solving real life logistics problems, rather than high numbers of published papers.
